We are accepting invitation for the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship for OpenFOAM Project, 2023. Students of any academic year, with a basic knowledge of CFD can apply for the fellowship. The duration of the fellowship is approximately 4-6 weeks and mode is online. The only criteria to get selected is, solving a screening task. Please find the details about the screening task as below:
Screening task for OpenFOAM:
Flow Past a Prism: This task aims to find the Drag and Lift coefficients for flow around a triangular prism of Length one meter, as shown in the figure here
Applicants can submit the solution of the screening task at contact-cfd@fossee.in
Screening task for OpenFOAM GUI: The CFD-FOSSEE team is developing a GUI to enhance the convenience of creating OpenFOAM cases. This involves building a PyQt based node-editor to manipulate the contents of serialized data files (such as a json). The serialized data represents the various parameters required to build an OpenFOAM case.
The screening task for OpenFOAM GUI and submission guidelines will be announced shortly.
The OpenFOAM team of FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, offered a 6-Day Workshop on 'Tackling Computational Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer Problems using OpenFOAM'. The workshop comprised of theory and demonstation sessions. Participants found it extremely useful for their academics and career.

The OpenFOAM Hackathon was a platform for the CFD-OpenFOAM community to show their skills in OpenFOAM. Participants upgraded solved Case Studies available under the 'Completed Case Studies' under the Case Study Project of OpenFOAM into the latest versions of OpenFOAM (v10 and v2212) according to the standards of openfoam.org or openfoam.com . Participants could pick up any case study and upgrade it to the latest version of OpenFOAM (v10 and v2212).

FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, organizes the first Industry-Academia Interaction to foster the Research & Development and Learning of Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using OpenFOAM. This is an endeavour to synergize the ongoing developments in the field of CFD in academics as well as in the corporate sector. This interaction will help FOSSEE to train the CFD enthusiasts to increase their job potential. It will also help the corporate section to augment their R&D effort and access to well-trained potential employees. The Academia will also be benefitted by connecting their research to the problems that the CFD industry is focusing on at present.
